190,000 people took part in the election and voted for the following watches in each category.

Watches under 500€: The Casio Edifice, the brand's first automatic watch

Watches from €501 to €1,000: The Seiko Presage Cocktail Frozen Mojito

Watches from €1,001 to €2,000: The Tissot PRX Robot UFO Goldorak

Watches from €2,001 to €5,000: The Tudor Black Bay 54 Blue Lagoon

Watches from €5,001 to €10,000: The Frédérique Constant Perpetual Calendar, a complication never before seen at this price level.

Watches from €10,001 to €25,000: The Omega Speedmaster Moonphase and its meteorite dial

We then presented the watch resulting from the collaboration between Frank sans C and the Trilobe watch brand with its 100% Parisian production, the Trente-Deux Seconde.

Watches from €20,001 to €50,000: The Tag Heuer Carrera Tourbillon Extreme Sport Carbonspring, whose carbon spiral spring required several years of development.

Watches from €50,001 to €100,000: The platinum Rolex Land-Dweller, the brand's first high-frequency watch, 5 hertz or 36,000 vibrations per hour. This watch is the subject of 32 patents, including 18 for the movement alone.

Watches from €100,001 to €350,000: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Quantième Perpétuel 150th anniversary of this brand under the new management of Mrs. Illaria Resta who succeeded Pierre Henri Bénnamiàs, whose new adventures, which promise to be original and exciting, will be to follow in 2026.

Watches over €350,000: The Vacheron Constantin Solaria Ultra Grande Complication. The real horological feat was to fit 41 complications into a case 45mm in diameter and "only" 14.99mm thick. A separate article would have to be written on this exceptional watch and its complications, the most notable of which are a minute repeater with four gongs and four hammers, and five astronomical functions, four of which give the exact position of the sun in real time, the time of its zenith, its height and the angle of declination, and the fifth giving the exact position of the sun in the sky.angle of declination, and the fifth, which combines a split-seconds chronograph with a representation of the celestial vault to calculate the time required for a given constellation or star to appear at the center of the observer's field of vision.

Connected watches : The Apple Watch Ultra 3. It's worth remembering that while quartz almost killed off the watchmaking industry, the Apple Watch is the world's best-selling watch, and has resurrected the use of the wristwatch, which had fallen somewhat into disuse.

Then came the special jury prizes

The Personality of the Year prize was rightly awarded to Jean-Christophe Babin, the lively CEO of Bvlgari.

The Grand Prix du Jury was awarded to the Ferdinand Berthoud Naissance d'Une Montre 3 watch. A totally hand-crafted watch with a very special mechanism for transmitting constant force by chain and fusée, it took 6 years to design and produce the 11 pieces available, and to relearn techniques from the past.

The TF1 prize for watchmaking excellence was awarded to Bvlgari for their Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon watch, which holds the world record for thinness, with a thickness of 1.85mm, 42 grams and 42 hours of autonomy, an incredible performance for a tourbillon.

The women's watch prize went to the Cartier Joaillière Panthère, which made up for the total absence of women's watches from the public awards, an unfair absence given the quality of the women's watches in the selection.

And finally, the over all prize for the watch in the selection that received the most votes went to the Royal Oak QP 150ème anniversaire by Audemars Piguet.

So much for the results of this competition for the general public, which rewarded watchmaking excellence in every award category. It is perhaps regrettable that originality did not prevail in the choices, but after all, the classics are the sure thing.

We'll see at the Grand Prix de L'Horlogerie de Geneve if the professionals are more daring.
